Who I am
Hello!
I’m Dr Nikola Mongey, a Clinical Psychologist dedicated to supporting individuals in their mental health journeys. With years of experience in therapeutic work, I utilise various modalities, including narrative, trauma-focused, attachment-based, and systemic approaches, along with a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
In my clinical practice, I have had the privilege of working with children and young people with diverse needs, including care-experienced individuals and forcibly displaced children (unaccompanied asylum seekers), as well as their carers and supporting professionals. I have experience of working with people who face challenges such as anxiety, depression, phobias, low self-esteem, OCD, and trauma (including PTSD). I have worked with individuals and families across various mental health services, including adult crisis services, inpatient settings, and adults with learning disabilities. Additionally, I have been part of specialised national and local services providing mental health assessments, therapy, and consultation for traumatised children and young people, along with their parents, carers, and supporting professionals.
I take a thoughtful approach to how contextual and relational issues may impact therapy, working holistically to promote well-being. I tailor my therapeutic style to each individual’s needs, collaboratively exploring their goals and wishes for therapy.
I believe that reaching out for support in mental health and well-being is an essential and important step. Therapy can be beneficial whether you are seeking help for a specific issue affecting your quality of life or looking to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. I strive to create a strong, authentic therapeutic relationship where you feel understood, listened to, and supported.
My qualifications are:

PostGraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - King’s College of London
